Career and Technical Education

Weston County School District #1 is proud to offer quite a few courses aimed towards Career and Technical Education. These courses help students find a passion and teach them skills that will help them after graduation.
We currently have 8 Programs of Study, taught by 4 CTE trained High School Teachers.

Students begin their high school career by trying out courses in many programs of study. They would then be considered a "Participant" in that program. As their High School Career progresses, they may narrow down their interest and continue in one Program of Study over the others, and when the proper courses are taken, the student will then become a "Concentrator" in that Program of Study.

When a student is a concentrator, they will be given an opportunity to pass an Industry-Recognized Credential. If the student is able to successfully complete the course and pass the Credential, the student is then recognized by the Wyoming Department of Education as Career Ready upon Graduation.

Our District receives funding from a Perkins Grant that helps to facilitate these great programs and courses. If you have any questions about Perkins, or the CTE program, please contact the High School Principal, Bryce Hoffman.
